Women in Technology in the Nonprofit Sector

I read James Damore’s divisive memo about gender inequality for men and women at Google. What happens at Google these days makes ripples throughout society. It’s a good time to discuss gender equality in the technology workplace.

I strongly disagree with Mr. Damore’s assertions.  The best engineer at Blue Sky Collaborative is a woman. Many of our most successful nonprofit clients have women in prominent roles.

Myra Biblowit, the President of BCRF, comes to mind immediately.  Most pioneers and thought leaders like @JackiZehner and Beth @kanter drive innovation in the nonprofit tech sector.

I am grateful this memo surfaced. It’s a chance to reflect on this topic.  My conclusion remains the same. The nonprofit sector should continue to welcome gender diversity in technology and leadership.
